Lourdes College , located in Sylvania, Ohio, United States, was founded by the Sisters of St. Francis in order to educate sisters of the order.
A private commuter college, Lourdes offers baccalaureate degree programs in Arts and Sciences, Nursing and Professional Studies (including business, education, leadership studies and social work). The College also offers graduate degrees in Education, Nursing and Organizational Leadership.
Founded by the Sisters of St. Francis, Lourdes offers its students the opportunity to learn in an environment that follows its Franciscan values of community, learning, reverence and service . Lourdes is situated on 89 acres of woodlands, 10 miles west of Toledo, Ohio. Classrooms seat no more than 40, affording students the opportunity to get to know their professors and fellow classmates.
Lourdes also offers a wide variety of community outreach programs, including the Appold Planetarium, the Franciscan Theatre & Conference Center, the Koester Greenhouse and the LifeLong Learning program. Our Theater Vision and Life Lab programs also offer hands-on educational programs for students.
Collaborative partnerships include programs in Sandusky, Ohio, and also with Owens Community College, the University of Findlay, Terra Technical College and Tiffin University. Articulation agreements are also in place with community colleges in northwest Ohio and southeastern Michigan.
Lourdes College will celebrate its 50th anniversary on January 13, 2008.
